My medium also inspires me and leads me through experimentation and unconventional techniques.
I still love what clay can do.
The clays I use are Southern Ice for jewellery pieces and Superior White Porcelain for 3D works.
Each clay piece is kiln fired 3 times: Bisque (1000°), Glaze (1260°) and On-glaze (800°).
My Platinum Flora work is made using both hand building and wheel throwing techniques used individually and together.
The final stage in each piece is the application and firing of the Platinum.
I use this last decorative technique to focus on leaves, petals or even negative spaces in the composition.
